Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be U.S. residents, who are 18 years of age or older, and reside in the WRLH viewing area (the DMA), which includes the following cities/counties: Albermarle, Orange, Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson, Buckingham,Charlotte, Prince Edward, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Brunswick, Emporia, Greensville, Southampton, Sussex, Dinwiddie, Petersburg, Amelia, Powhatan, Chesterfield, Prince George, Hopewell, Charles City, New Kent, Richmond, Henrico, Hanover, Ashland, Caroline, King William, King and Queen, Essex, Middlesex, Lancaster, Northumberland, and Westmoreland. 2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television of Charleston, Inc., and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WRLH (the “Company”), The Douglas Group, Inc., Little Caesar’s Inc., their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.
How to Enter / How to Win
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry accepted per person per week. An entrant who is otherwise a winner may be disqualified if they are found to have entered the contest more than once per week under separate e-mail accounts.
(b) Entries will be received between April 4, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. ET, and 11:59 p.m. ET on April 24, 2011 . The voting period will begin at 12:00 a.m ET on April 25, 2011- and end at 11:59pm ET on May 8, 2011.
(c) To enter, log onto foxrichmond.com and click on the “Lessons of Laughter Fun @ Work” icon. Register for this contest by entering your name, address, phone number, company name and birth date, together with responses to any informational questions included in the registration process. Registered entrants will need to log on to upload their video entry based on the topic: “How Do You Have Fun at Work?”. Video entries may not exceed thirty seconds (:30) in length. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 24, 2011. No mechanically completed entries will be accepted.
(d) By entering, applicants acknowledge that the video entry is their own original work. All entries must be applicants’ original work and should not be/have been submitted to or published or broadcast by any other publication or media company. The video entry may not contain any copyrighted or trademarked material including but not limited to: photograph likenesses of or references to celebrities or known persons alive or dead, recorded music, published works from books, magazines, newspapers, plays, song lyrics, scripts, essays, articles, web site content, or clips from television programs or movies, sports footage, official logos of any organization, existing artwork or graphic design. Entrants cannot use copyrighted music in the video entry; only original or uncopyrighted music. In addition, the video entry may not contain nudity or profanity of any kind. The Station reserves the right to edit, crop or alter the video entry without notification to or approval by the applicant. The Company reserves the right to disqualify any video entry in its sole and absolute discretion.
(e) The voting period will begin on April 25, 2011 and end at 11:59 p.m. ET on May 8, 2011 (the “Voting Period”). Points will be awarded based on the number of votes received. Only one (1) vote per configured user per week.
(f) At the end of the Voting Period, the entrant with the highest number of votes will be deemed the winner.
(g) The Company is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected entries, printing errors, software failure, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction. All entries received that are tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. Entrants may not enter using multiple e-mail addresses or as multiple entrants. Any entrant who attempts to enter with multiple e-mail addresses or under multiple identities, or uses any other device to enter multiple times will be disqualified. All entries become the property of the Company and will not be acknowledged or returned.
(h) The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the contest should virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond the control of The Company, in its sole opinion, corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper operation of the contest or for any other reason at the sole discretion of The Company.
The Prize (s)
1. One (1) local winner will receive a FOX Richmond prize package [which may include FOX Richmond and/or FOX Merchandise and a two-hour (2) Lessons of Laughter team-building workshop]. The prize is valued at up to two thousand five hundred and fifty dollars ($2,550).
2. Winner will be notified by email. Within two (2) days of notification, winner must claim their prize in person at FOX Richmond WRLH, 1925 Westmoreland Street, Richmond VA 23230. Before receiving prizes, winner must provide their correct name, address, telephone number, and social security number to the Company at the time of notification. Before receiving prizes, winner must also sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which will be emailed to the winner after claiming the prize on the website and which must be received by The Company with fourteen (14) day notification.
3. If the winner is disqualified for any reason, or does not complete and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, or does not claim the prize within two (2) days of notification, then the prize will be forfeited and the prize may be awarded to the entrant with the next highest score. The Company reserves the right to extend the time period by which the winner must take necessary action to claim the prize.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of The Company. The Company has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. The winner is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
6. The Company and sponsors shall not be liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
7. The Company and sponsors are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
8. In claiming a prize, winner must acknowledge that The Company has the right to publicize winner’s name, character, likeness, photograph, and voice for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
9. The Company shall not be responsible for the failure of any winner to claim a prize as a result of such winner’s failure to receive an e-mail from The Company regardless of the reason for such failure.
Odds of Winning / Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries received.
2. Prize winners will be listed on the contest website. Official rules are available online at www.foxrichmond.com.
3. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. The Company and any local sponsors accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
4. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these rules, or the rights and obligations of The Company or any sponsor, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with laws of the State of Maryland, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether Maryland or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of the laws of any other jurisdiction other than Maryland. The invalidity of unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as of the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein. All claims relating to the contest must be brought in the federal or state courts located in Baltimore County, Maryland, which shall have the exclusive jurisdiction and venue over such claims.
5. The Company cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
6. The Company reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates at any time and in its sole discretion.
7.Mobile service provider may charge for each text message sent and received according to its standard text messaging rates. Voters should check phone capabilities for specific text messaging instructions and consult with mobile service provider regarding pricing plans. Not all mobile phone providers carry the necessary service to participate.
